A varied calendar of culinary events brings extra excitement to the Mauna Kea menus. The highlight of every year is the Winter Wine Escape attended by the world's top chefs, oenologists, food critics and guests interested in the Epicurean arts.

The Batik
The Resort's premier restaurant features a melange of classic European, Pacific Rim and East Asian cuisine. The Indian Curry with chutneys and freshly baked Naan bread is a signature menu item along with the Grand Marnier and Dark Chocolate Souffles. A classical guitarist entertains during dinner. A Jazz duo performs in the Batik Lounge for that after dinner nightcap. Dress: Jacket for the gentlemen is suggested, but optional.
The Pavilion
Overlooking Kauna'oa Bay, guests experience the perfect way to begin their day. For breakfast, order from an extensive a la carte menu or choose from a lavish buffet selection. The dinner menu offers fine American and Pacific Island cuisine. On Friday nights, a special "China Moon" buffet is featured complete with an authentic and greatly entertaining Lion Dance. The Terrace
Home to the famous Mauna Kea Beach Hotel's Sunday Brunch, the number one favorite choice of the local Big Island community. The menu features a sushi bar, extravagant chilled seafood bar, specialty carvery stations and decadent dessert selections. Dress: Casual Resort Attire.
Hau Tree/Gazebo
Salads, sandwiches, sushi and sweets are the fare of the Hau Tree beachside restaurant. The Gazebo Bar is the perfect spot to meditate on the nation's "Best Beach" and sample a "Fredrico" or two as the sun sets in the West.
19th Hole
The Mauna Kea Golf Clubhouse has an eclectic menu of Asian noodle dishes, Philly Steak, Club, Mahimahi or "Wrap" sandwiches and even old-fashioned sundaes for the golfer and non-golfer alike. Dress: Casual Resort Attire
Clambake
Dive into the best seafood buffet on the Kohala Coast, featuring all the Keahole Maine lobster, sashimi, shrimp, crab, oysters, mussels and clams you can eat, plus Prime Ribs of Beef and a lavish dessert bar. Located at the Hau Tree, on the beach at Kauna'oa Bay. Dress: Casual Resort Attire. Saturday night only.
Lu'au
Witness the opening of the imu pit as the pig is is unearthed from its underground oven. Savour a feast of traditional and regional Hawaiian foods, while Kumu Hula Nani Lim and her award-winning hula troupe enchant you with their authentic renditions of ancient and modern Hawaiian songs and dances.
Copper Bar
A Mauna Kea tradition - In the day, relax here and enjoy spectacular ocean views of Kauna'oa Bay and the Kohala coastline. Near day's end, return here to sip on Mai Tais before dinner as you watch the glorious sunset and be lulled by the soothing sounds of the Hawaiian Blend trio. Dress: Casual Resort Attire.
